Dead Poets Society
1. Summary
In the story we are followed some boys, who are totally different from eight other. They all goes at the very traditionally school in England called Welton Academy.
The story begins when a new school year is going to start and they are celebrating the schools 100 years anniversary. At this ceremony they also is percent a new teacher Mr. John Keating, he is going to teach the boys to be poets. The other teachers and the parents is not agree in the way Mr. Keating encourage the boys to be “free thinkers”, but the boys are very committed to learn from Mr. Keating.
The story also tells about the boy’s days at the school and about theirs different problem with girls, family and school. They make their own club called Dead Poets Society, where they reads poets for eight other and talk about their problems.
2. Characterize of Mr. Keating
Mr. John Keating is the new teacher at Welton Academy. He is younger than the most of the other teachers and gives the school a breath of fresh air.
He was a student at the school himself, when he was a young boy. At that time he and his friends had a secret club called Dead Poets Society. Hi loved to road and read poets, so they sneaked out in the nights and go to their secret cave, and read them lout for eight other. Maybe to get a little away from the schools hard rules.
Now when he is at teacher, he would like to give his own students the same breathing space as he had got himself. But he also teaches them it because he wants them to be “free thinkers”. He wants to tell them, that they can think by them self, so that the hard rules in school don’t brainwashes them totally. He gives them a new way to think on, to think whit their hearts and feel what they really burns for in life and get it out in praxis.
He got them lessening with his owns methods. He get them up from their chairs and out of the classroom. Then he gives them questions whose answers don’t stands in the books, they have to think by them self.
3. Mr. Keatings effect on Todd and Neil
Todd Anderson is a very quiet and shy boy. He is the new boy. His older brother has also gone to the school, and he has performed really well, so there rests a big responsibility on Todd's shoulders, having to do it as good as his brother.
With Mr. Keating’s help he begins to open up. He read a poet up in front of all his classmates and after that he is very proud of himself.
In the end of the story is it also Todd who stands up in front of all the other boys and speak their case.
Neil Perry and Todd is completely different from each other. Neil is very popular and has many friends. It is also the one who starts the Dead Poets Society club again and he becomes the leader. He is very helpful and a good student, he attends to his school.
Neil’s father has a very discipline and straight way he wants his son to go and he don’t listen to his son at all. At the end of the story Neil takes a big decision to get his father's attention.
4. The Ending
The ending is very dramatics. It is very sad and I had thought that parents had been able to see that something should be changes. But it helps the boys to stand up and speak their minds, and stand together.
I don’t think that I was the only one in the class, who was very surprised about the ending. But now when this is a book review I don’t want to reveal what happens.

The other teachers and the parents is not agree in the way Mr. Keating encourage the boys to be “free thinkers”, but the boys are very committed to learn from Mr. Keating. Det skal være: don't agree with the way...
The story also tells about the boy’s days at the school and about theirs different problem with girls, family and school. Skal være tell ikke tells, boys og ikke boy's, their og ikke theirs.
Der er en del fejl, så du er velkommen til at maile den til mig, så skal jeg rette den og sende den tilbage ;o)
